Kunyanja Private School was founded in 2007 by 3 graduating teachers, Feston Singoyi, Tembani Phiri and Sydney.

The founder's dreams were realized when they met Jason Strelitz and Mandy Wilkins from the UK who decided to help fund their project.

The school currently has about 120 students in Forms 1 to 4.

TAFA became involved with Kunyanja School in April 2011 when one of our sponsored students, Augustine Nyirenda became a student,

TAFA was also impressed not only by the organization and structure of the school campus, but the motivation and direction of its founders and headmaster.

The school is an invaluable education source in Nkhata Bay.

Kunyanja School was chosen as it already has computer classes in place (the first students wrote their government exams this year). With only 2 computers, the school was very limited with their ability to provide the computer classes.

Students on their first day experiencing computers for the first time in their lives.

After the students learned to "double click" the students were ready to explore the games, music and prgrams on the computers.
